Mission Statement of The El Dorado County Indian Council, Inc.
The mission of The Eldorado County Indian Council, Inc. is to promote the health, safety, and social welfare of Native Americans by supporting the economic, community, and social development of Native people here in Eldorado County.
In order to fulfill our mission, we strive to:
Provide a voice for all Native Americans of El Dorado County in such matters that may deal with the Local, State, and Federal Governments.
Promote and maintaiin Native American culture and tradition by participating with other organizations, councils, and groups, through the planning and/or sponsorship of legal and inter-tribal cultural activities, gatherings, social functions, and fund-raising events.
Preserve and protect prehistoric cultural resources.
Establish and maintain a cash reserve from which The Eldorado County Indian Council, Inc. may donate needed items of food, clothing, or other necessities to an individual or family of Native American background when they are in need.
Establish and maintain a cash reserve from which The Eldorado County Indian Council, Inc. may annually award Merit Scholarships to eligible students of Native American background.
