Historic compact between the El Dorado Irrigation District and The El Dorado County Indian Council, Inc.

As soon as it is possible to tour the newly-upgraded Retreat House Complex and the Flash Mountain recreation area, the El Dorado Irrigation District Parks and Recreation Superintendent Cheri Jaggers will take us there.  Check the Event Calendar for the date. 

The drawing below shows the Complex located just west of Group Areas 2 and 3.

Members of The El Dorado County Indian Council, Inc. met with representatives from the El Dorado Irrigation District on Thursday, March 31st, to create an on-going agreement for the use of part of the Sly Park Lake recreation area for our annual Summer Gathering. 

Thanks to George Wheeldon, EID Board Member from District 4;  Cheri Jaggers, Parks and Recreation Superintendent; and Tom Cumpston, EID General Counsel, we were able to obtain an agreement to use the Flash Mountain Retreat House area along with Group Area #6 for our Summer Gatherings.  We will be able to use those facilities each year on the 1st weekend in August.
